From gold rush towns to coastal rainforests
Following in the wake of the enormous glaciers that sliced through the landscape, you'll have a front row seat to the expansive landscape of the inside passage. Bask in the stunning views of the ancient coastal rainforest and try and catch a glimpse of the varied wildlife that might be hiding amongst the old growth trees. Give a wave to the Governor's House in Juneau, the state's capital, by wandering through downtown. A town birthed out of the Klondike Gold Rush, Skagway keeps its history intact with well-kept replicas of buildings that might have once lined the main street in the late 1800's.
Traipse through the bustling port town of Ketchikan, known affectionately as the "Salmon Capital of the World". When you sail through the Inside Passage, keep your eyes peeled for creatures of all species including the majestic bald eagle, timid deer, enormous brown bears and deceivingly acrobatic whales. Your journey ends in Vancouver, where you can step back into the pre-turn of the century in Gastown, a quarter of the downtown area replete with trendy contemporary dining and a steam-powered clock, the perfect intersection of history and the present.
