The Sunshine Coast Trail offers spectacular hiking through old growth forests and panoramic mountaintop views, while kayaking packages are carefully crafted by the resort. Kayak lessons help develop some serious calm water skills that come in handy while traversing the waters solo, and there are also horseback riding, fishing, and diving opportunities nearby.

The nearby town of Powell River has sailing, diving and trails in abundance and the town of Lund has a bakery famous for its blackberry sticky buns. Desolation Sound Marine Park was created in 1973 to protect natural marine environment and shelter saltwater lagoons at the head of the Georgia Strait. The waters are best traversed in small boats, with many opportunities for fishing, swimming and hiking.
