Puget Sound has always been a favourite playground for residents in the surrounding communities and also for northern neighbours in B.C. The area is painted with a complex system of basins and interconnected waterways, snowcapped peaks like majestic Mount Rainier, ships, ports and everything in between. Seattle serves as the Sound's major urban centre - a vibrant city teaming with creative cappuccino enthusiasts and mountain-loving downtown professionals. Deeper into the Sound you'll find a group of smaller communities, where buildings all face the Western horizon and its sunsets like eager children in front of a TV.
It is here, just west of Tacoma, where you'll find Paradise Chateau, overlooking the tranquil branches of water. The setting is equally ideal for a romantic getaway, adventurous escape with a close friend, or to use as a base for golfing at the nearby (and famous) Chambers Bay Golf Course (there is a free shuttle from the front door). Wine glasses in every room urge you to enlighten your sense even further. Energizing, all-you-can-eat breakfasts are there to greet you in the morning to prime you for whatever is on your agenda.
Paradise Chateau takes the notion of home-away-from-home quite seriously. Common areas include a family room with a gas fireplace and 50" flat screen TV. A living room complete with a six-foot grand piano beckons those with musical flare. However, it's highly doubtful that your home shares a back patio like Paradise Chateau's - a place to rejuvenate with the crisp air sliding off the water and a 220 degree view of the Sound. If you want to take your relaxation further, massages come in three different types at Paradise for an added cost. Swedish, Hot Stone and Russian Sports are there for aching joints and tense muscles.
The nearby Steamers Cafe is an ideal spot to satisfy your urge for local seafood from the Tacoma and Seattle area. The Fish and Chips is something to write home about, while the award-winning clam chowder will warm your belly on a rainy day. Fish tacos are also a winning menu item (inspired by California to the south) and the restaurant also offers crisp Northwest microbrews to wash everything down.
