Prince Edward County is Ontario’s emerging wine destination. IT is a mere 2.5 hour drive from the GTA, and not far from Ottawa and Montreal. Aside from being an attractive destination for oenophiles, the area has developed an impressive culinary reputation. Executive chef Luis de Sousa has helped build that reputation for over a decade, as head of the Wearing House culinary team. The Waring House offers fine dining in Amelia’s restaurant and causal fare and live entertainment in the Barley Room Pub as well as other inn attractions including a recreational cookery school, an amenity spa, two featured artists in residence and a wonderful collection of Canadian antiques and fine art.
Culinary Experience
This offer features a one-of-a-kind cooking experience with Chef Jordon McGinnis. He will share some of his favourite recipes as well as some trade secrets in his expertly-led cooking class. Each guest will prepare an entire four-course meal using local seasonal produce, and learn about the wine industry in Prince Edward County, including insight about the wines that the region excels at producing, and general knowledge of wine and food pairing. After the class, each student will retire to dine in Waring Hall, where you will able to enjoy the fruits of your labour; your meal will be served to you, with each course paired with a local wine.
