As artful and elegant as its namesake, the newly-renovated m/s Paul Gauguin is a sleek, luxury ship designed to expertly survey the shallow waters of Tahiti and French Polynesia. Floating effortlessly through the beauty of the South Seas, the ship couples an intimate and relaxed environment with 5-Star service, spacious suites and thoughtfully crafted amenities.
Day 1 - Embark Paul Gauguin in Papeete, Tahiti: You'll begin your journey in the capital of Tahiti where seduction meets adventure in the coral reefs, tranquil turquoise waters and white sand beaches of the South Seas isles. Take some time to enjoy the water sports marina, full service spa or one of three dining venues available on the ship before turning in at your luxurious ocean view room.
Day 2 - Raiatea: Slightly smaller and far less travelled than Tahiti, Raiatea is Polynesia's sacred, unspoiled island that was once home to its cultural, political and religious heartbeat. Legend dictates the archaeological importance of this island where you'll find stone temples and carved wooden tikis said to house the spirit of the gods during ritual ceremonies. Make sure to explore Taputapuatea, a national monument and the most important temple in the Society Islands.
Day 3 - Taha'a (Motu Mahana): Today is the perfect chance to relax in paradise, watching the wind rustle the overhead palms and slip through the sands before flowing out to the sea. Complete relaxation will be supplemented with a delicious barbeque lunch and exclusive Polynesian entertainment featuring strolling musicians and singers.
Day 4 - Bora Bora: Decadent, lush, legendary - few of the many words used to describe this idyllic isle bounded by spectacular lagoons and jagged volcanic peaks. This "pearl of the pacific" offers many options for the adventurous traveller or for those more suited to relaxed exploration. Daydreamers can lounge on the water while more adventurous hearts snorkel with sharks or consider sporting locally designed tattoos.
Day 5 - Bora Bora: Today you can continue your love affair with this amazing island and choose from several different excursions like a 4-wheel-drive safari, a glass-bottom boat ride, or a helicopter ride.
Day 6 - Moorea: Fresh fruit and flowers find you here in the awesome beauty of Moorea, along with all the legendary palm-lined, crystal-watered terrain of the Society Islands. Shop for local handicrafts, watch the native dolphins, and make sure to sample some of the islands mouth-watering pineapple.
Day 7 - Moorea/Papeete, Tahiti: Mighty mountains soar out of a wide, shallow lagoon on this magical island, perfect for peaceful exploration. Hike the "Trails of the Ancients" excursion that winds through rainforest to visit sacred marae sites, check something off your bucket list with a parasailing adventure, or use this opportunity to snorkel the majestic Polynesian waters one last time.
