Founded in 1967, Omega Tours is a family-run travel business designed to cultivate travel curiosity through exploration of both bustling tourist hubs and off the beaten track destinations. They are dedicated to surveying the swarming streets and cultural gems of admired cities, and to unraveling the secrets of spaces that have skillfully evaded worldwide recognition.
As part of its tour selection, Omega Tours offers a comprehensive four-day tour to one of America's oldest cities. Affectionately dubbed "the Athens of America", among other lofty designations, Boston is a city that delivers Old World charm in the form of its stately universities, imposing architecture and a rich colonial history unrivalled within the United States.
A Puritan-founded cultural axis that has long been the pinnacle of America's political progressiveness, Boston is shrugging off its staid reputation with an infusion of artists and trend setters that are being drawn to its cultural energy and fostered by its universities. This new vigor found in hip art galleries and lively sporting events combined with an age old reputation names Boston one of the hottest cities to visit in the United States.
Day 1 - Toronto to Boston: Embark on your tour from Sarracini Travel, and take some time to peruse duty free goods at the border before heading on to explore Boston.
Day 2 - Tour of Boston: Today you'll enjoy a half-day tour unveiling the architectural glory of Boston's churches and the magnitude of its memorials, and the rest of the day is yours to uncover whatever may have been missed. Boston is brimming with enviable green space, so stop for a quick bite in the grass of the Public Garden, or admire the vast collection of bonsais at the famous Arboretum. Pay homage to revolutionaries and literary icons at the historic burying grounds, take a tour of the oldest commissioned warship in the world, or stroll through the historic houses on Beacon Hill.
Day 3 - Tour of Salem: Now a suburb of Boston, Salem is a town most noted for its controversial place in history. The Salem Witchcraft Trials swelled throughout Salem in 1692, and often overshadow the country's perhaps more impressive claim to fame - creating one of America's first millionaires. Elias Hasket Derby was a ship merchant whose half-mile-long Derby Wharf and Peabody Essex Museum are now among Salem's most noteworthy sites (which also include more witchcraft museums than you could shake a broomstick at). Back in Boston, free time will allow you an excursion to Walden Pond or the Harvard museum of Natural History, before taking in a show courtesy of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, or perhaps enjoying a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, the country's oldest ballpark.
Day 4 - Boston to Toronto: En route back to Canada you can enjoy some premium outlet mall shopping as you bid farewell to New England's captivating capital and your charming hosts at Omega Travel.
