Playa Esmeralda is a beach that is coated in soft, white powdery sand. Tiny little crabs scurry to avoid the incoming tide. Sizzling sunbathers wade in to the crystal-clear water from time to time to reset their temperatures. Go-getters strive to keep volleyballs in the air. Aside from all of this action, this vibrant beach is also home to Sol Rio de Luna y Mares Resort, a 4-star property in the illustrious Holguin County.
The amenities on the resort are there for you to indulge, whether you want to relax, eat, drink, swim, or participate in some fun activities. There are two pools to choose from which are perfect to lounge by and dip into, a Jacuzzi, and of course, the aforementioned beach. There are six restaurants altogether, including two international buffets and four a la carte, that you can make up to two reservations for during your stay. Snacks are available throughout the day. There are also five bars on site (including a swim-up bar), so you'll never go thirsty.
Entertainment comes in many forms, ranging from a mini-disco to nightly variety shows. If you are more of the active type, the hotel offers badminton, beach volleyball, shuffleboard, archery, billiards and table tennis. Water sports include aqua trykes, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, windsurfing, catamaran, kayaking and sunfish sailing.
It's highly unlikely that you'd want to spend much time in your room at the resort, but, it's nice to know that there is a place where you can go for some secluded rest and relaxation. Rooms are outfitted with satellite TV, mini fridges, air conditioning, safety deposit boxes, bottled water, and everything you need to feel at home. There are also private terraces and balconies for those who want to soak up the sun with a little bit of privacy.
