As a city that has been immortalized in song by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Jay-Z, New York City has a lot to live up to. It's a fascinating enigma where nightlife persists until the sun rises over the landmark Empire State Building, yet world-class art galleries, top-shelf shows and a cornucopia of succulent cuisine are ready to greet guests without fail the next day. The holidays are a very special time in New York. Dazzling lights are slung across the trees that line the boulevards and the always effervescent Times Square plays host to the world's most recognizable New Year's celebration while spectators look on sipping champagne from rooftop patios.
Day 1 - Sunday, December 30: Depart Sarracini Travel at 6 am (arrive for 5:30) to journey to NYC. Stop at the border for duty-free shopping before checking in to your accommodations at Holiday Inn Newark Airport. Spend the rest of the night enjoying the city; consult the Broadway playbill or chisel into a succulent steak from Peter Luger Steak House.
Day 2 - Monday, December 31: Today you'll enjoy a guided tour through the concrete canyons of Manhattan with a chance to explore some of its most memorable sights. Pause on a bench in the urban wilderness of Central Park, peer out over the Art Deco wonders of Rockefeller Centre (stop for some quick laps around the ice rink) and gawk at the vast ceilings and stained-glass windows of St. Patrick's Cathedral. After dinner and champagne, enjoy New Year's Eve celebrations in the city, where soulful renditions of Auld Lange Syne pour through the bright lights of Times Square as the crystal ball closes in on a new year. You will receive a 1 am pickup in front of Macy’s located at 34th and Broadway Avenue. B/D
Day 3 - Tuesday, January 1: Begin your day at Macy's where you can peruse this iconic flagship department store, and if you wish to continue your retail journey head down 5th Avenue and play at Audrey Hepburn in front of Tiffany & Co. - you can stop at Grand Central Station along the way. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to dip into SoHo art galleries or historic Harlem haunts like the Apollo Theatre before boarding the bus to travel back to Toronto. B
Day 4 - Wednesday January 2: Arrive in Toronto 10 am
