Montego Bay is a vacation magnet for many reasons - it beckons travellers with its infinite ocean views and carefree Jamaican attitude. It's not hard to become captivated in the area's notable attributes; from the breathtaking (and navigable) Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, to the illustrious Rick's Cafe. Amidst it all is Sunset Beach Montego Bay resort, the perfect refuge for zen-like relaxation and fun in the sun.
Rooms in the Sunrise Tower are equipped with one king or two double beds, air conditioning and private balconies to bask in the morning sunshine. Choices are endless for dining, but make sure to sample the jerk chicken when it's available at the Beach Bar & Grill. The international buffet has all you want and more, but the specialized a la carte restaurants are good choices for a more lavish dining experience. And of course, there are always beverages available at a wide variety of bars throughout the resort.
The activities, entertainment and amenities are endless on the resort, so whether you want to zoom down one of the 250-foot long waterslides at Pirate's Paradise Water Park, lounge in the giant Jacuzzi, soak up the sunshine on the beach, or partake in some water sports, Sunset Beach Resort has you covered! But the friendly and helpful recreation staff is also there to offer safe, organized day trips outside of the resort to all of Montego Bay's gems.
A trip to Montego Bay isn't complete without visiting Rick's Cafe; if you want to witness the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen, this is the place to do it. High atop an Oceanside cliff, this world-renowned bar and grill offers breathtaking views you will never forget, as you enjoy refreshing cocktails (we recommend the signature Rasta-Politan) and local music. During the day, majestic cliff divers show off their stunts from a daredevil's diving board, and spectators (including you) get the chance to jump from the cliff into the clear waters below. In the nearby Ocho Rios are the must-see Dunn's River Falls. These 180-metre high falls are terraced like giant stair steps, with lush vegetation and lagoon formations along the way. The falls can be hiked with relative ease, often in a hand-holding human chain lead by a guide, and the area is mostly shielded from the sun with trees, so you won't overheat during this epic adventure.
