The ruins that make the country
Turkey is full of the mythical and historical, and also home to some of the world's best ruins. The legendary city of Troy holds an unmatched romance in the stories of Helen and Paris, but a very real and tragic past is evident in the impressive archaeological excavations. You'll also visit the ancient city of Pergamum, capital of the Attalid dynasty, where you can tour the Acropolis, temples, palaces and library. For a loftier excursion, you'll wonder at the remains of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and you'll have time to explore Ephesus - where marble pillars brace some of the best classical ruins in the world.
Dreamlike landscapes
From the amazing lunar landscape of Cappadocia to the cascading limestone baths at Hierapolis, Turkey is a country whose natural constitution is unmatched. The country's hills are adorned with picturesque villages like that which you'll visit in Sirince, and the waterways provide stunning views of shore hugging towns like Canakkale. You also pass through the magnanimous Taurus Mountains en route to Antalya - Turkey's largest seaside resort where you'll spend two nights. In Cappadocia, partake in an optional hot air balloon ride so you can experience the famous "fairy chimneys" from an incredible perch high above this ancient wonder, and make sure to sooth yourself in ancient mineral baths at Hierapolis.
